If you were amongst the majority of holiday binge eaters and drinkers this year, then you probably feel as bloated as they do. It's probably high time that you get to the gym, buy some new clothes, and generally refresh your look.
The good news is that none of these things are difficult to do, nor do they need to be expensive.
To get in shape all you need to do is:
Cardio: Cardio is the fastest and most effective way to burn calories and shed fat. If you can't squeeze another fifty quid a month into your budget then try going for runs after work and on weekends. The weather is starting to look up so going for runs along the river might be a nice way to clear your head, get some fresh air, and recharge your batteries.
Tone: A bit of weightlifting a couple of times a week will do wonders for the tone in your abs, legs, arms, and back. Pilates classes are actually an amazing way to start strengthening as is yoga. Go regularly and it won't be long before you start seeing results.
Cut back on bad foods: We all know what the good foods are and what the bad ones are. If you are someone who craves sweets after lunch then try substituting your chocolate for a fruit. If you love savoury, try to incorporate saltier ingredients into your food, like cooking with soy sauce. The truth is if you eat bran for breakfast and vegetables and a bit of protein for lunch, you can treat yourself to a yummy dinner inclusive of a glass of wine and desert. You don't have to starve yourself just eat more of the good stuff and less of the bad.
To get the look all you need is:
At this point of the year you probably have more woolly sweaters than you can count, you've got your big winter coat and your cosy scarves. In other words, you're walking to work everyday looking like an Eskimo. Now that the snow is starting to melt and designers are launching their spring collections it might be time that you trade those big woolly sweaters in for some more fitted cardis, trade in the big parka for a sleek, leather bomber or cool camo jacket, and take the scarves off your neck so that everyone can see your beautiful face.
You might also want to treat yourself to a bit of bling. A new watch, necklace or pair of cufflinks will have all your peers jealous and impressed.
