Valentines Day really is one of those Hallmark holidays that gets a bit blown out of proportion in the retail world. Excessive Christmases are one thing, but Valentines Day doesn't need to be anything more than a romantic dinner and maybe some red roses for her. If however, you are part of a couple that exchanges gifts and you know something is coming your way, you might want to get him at least a little something. Some ideas are…
1. Clothing with hearts on it:
Since hearts are the symbol of Valentines Day, why not buy your man clothing covered in them? Suggestions include socks, boxer shorts, or maybe a nice pullover or hoodie.
2. Accessories that say Love:
You might go for a fun ring that says "love" or a pin. If he likes big, comfy sweatshirts, TopMan's got a great black one that says "Big Love".
3. Chocolates:
It's not only women who love chocolate, men do too. So perhaps this Valentines Days you could get him a nice big box of delicious chocolates, or a big heart made entirely of milk chocolate goodness!
4. Something sexy:
While you might be the one wearing the lingerie, let's be honest, it's really a gift for him. Go out and buy yourself something sexy, and maybe tell him you're wearing it while you're out for dinner- something to look forward to.
5. Cook him dinner:
Cooking him a romantic dinner might be something you were planning on doing in addition to getting him a gift, or it might be the gift, either way it's a lovely gesture. Prepare his favourite meal, set the table with candles, and make a really special night of it.
6. Jewellery:
Like chocolate, jewellery isn't only loved by women. Moreover, unless they're really into their bling, a lot of men won't buy jewellery for themselves, so showing up to your date with a nice pair of cufflinks, or a new watch or leather bracelet is sure to win you brownie points.
7. Alcohol:
Men love their red wine, they love their port, and their champagne. It might be nice to show up to dinner with a nice bottle of something you know they love. They can either put it in their reserves or share it with you that night.
Valentines Day doesn't need to be an expensive holiday, but if you're in a relationship you should probably acknowledge it. This list of gifts should inspire some ideas of what to get for him.
